Check the words against the figures before you print a receipt. This tool runs in your browser; the amounts you type are not sent to us.

Why write the amount in words on a receipt?

Words next to figures make it harder to alter an amount after the fact, which is why cheques and many receipt formats ask for both. This tool is a convenience for your office; always check the result before you print.

How does the tool write the amount?

  • Indian grouping: thousand, lakh, crore (for example 1,23,456 is One Lakh Twenty-Three Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-Six).
  • Rupees and paise, with up to two decimals. The result ends with "Only" in English and "मात्र" in Hindi.
  • Everything runs in your browser. We do not receive the amount.

What is the largest amount it supports?

Up to 99,99,99,999 rupees (just under 100 crore) plus paise.

Does Acavya print this on receipts automatically?

Yes. Receipt templates in the fee counter include the amount in words. This free tool is for any other document.
