Acavya

What does AI do in Acavya, and who stays in control?

AI in Acavya drafts question papers, report-card remarks, lesson plans, parent messages and reconciliation matches for a person to approve, offers a hints-first tutor to students aged 13 and over, runs on free models through one gateway with redaction and a non-AI fallback, and never writes a mark or a record by itself.

Who is it for, and what hurts today?

  • Subject teacher: papers, worksheets and 45 remarks per term built by hand, and a free AI tool at home that students use to skip the thinking.
  • Accountant: matching UTRs from messy bank statements.
  • Coaching student: a doubt at 11 pm with no mentor awake. A hints-first tutor can answer first and escalate to a teacher.
  • Principal or owner: fear of AI sending something wrong to parents or leaking a child data, so every output that touches a record is a draft until a person approves it.

What can it do?

  • Available now: Teachers: lesson-plan drafts aligned to curriculum, a question-paper generator from a blueprint with sets, key and scheme, worksheet and DPP levelling and translation, question tagging, printed maths to LaTeX OCR and EN to HI translation of the question bank.
  • Available now: Class teachers: report-card remarks and HPC narratives with bias checks, parent message drafts and circular summaries, and class insights about weak chapters.
  • Available now: Test coordinator: test analysis that separates concept errors from calculation errors, and handwritten-answer grading assist, where the teacher sets the mark.
  • Available now: Front office and accounts: an admissions and FAQ bot answering only from your knowledge base, document OCR pre-fill, Excel column mapping during import and a reconciliation assistant.
  • Available now: The timetable and substitution are solved by a constraint solver, and AI only explains the choice.
  • Available now: Students: a hints-first doubt solver by photo or voice in Hinglish that uses the institute materials and escalates to a teacher, locked during exams, and practice from the error log with a revision planner. Open chat is for ages 13 and above and under 13 only has teacher-assigned closed tasks.
  • Available now: Parents: a weekly summary in the home language with an optional voice note and an ask-about-my-child answer limited to that child.
  • Available now: Owner and principal: ask-your-data over approved views, a daily digest and a circular to action-items converter. Everyone: an in-app help assistant, read-aloud for circulars and homework and simplified text.
  • Available now: AI class recap with a transcript summary, key questions and an auto-quiz that is opt-in and metered, and a teacher publishes.

What does the AI do here, and who approves it?

  • Every AI output that touches a record is a draft until a person approves it. There are two exceptions: template-bound, data-only parent summaries that the institute has opted into (5 percent are spot-checked) and admissions-bot replies grounded in your own knowledge base, each of which is logged and reviewable.
  • All calls go through one gateway in Acavya, never directly from a feature. The platform default uses free tiers only, such as Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter free models, Cerebras, Cloudflare Workers AI and GitHub Models, and routes each task to a capable free model with fallbacks. The platform never pays for AI.
  • Redaction stays on. Free tiers that may train on inputs receive only redacted text, never images and never a child unredacted personal data. Aadhaar images are never sent to a model.
  • Every feature has a deterministic or rule-based fallback, so when no provider or quota is available, the screen still works.
  • You can enter your own API keys and choose models per capability in the portal; they are encrypted with your tenant key and tried first for your institute. The platform default uses free tiers only.
  • There are no local model servers and no AI-detector scores.

How does it work?

What does AI do in Acavya, and who stays in control?

  1. Ask or trigger

A teacher asks for a paper or a remark, or a system event such as an import starts a task.

  2. Redact and route

Personal data is redacted, and the gateway picks a capable free model and falls back if one fails.

  3. Draft

The result appears as a draft, never as a saved mark, message or record.

  4. Approve

A person edits and approves, and the approval is logged.

Does it work in Hindi, offline and on WhatsApp?

  • Hindi and Hinglish are supported, but AI quality in Hindi and in mathematics is an open risk that we test with our own sample sets and a maths teacher reviews.
  • The student tutor is built for low-data phones through the app and WhatsApp links, with hints first.
  • Every plan has a monthly allowance of AI actions on free models for the whole institute, from 300 on the Free plan to 60,000 on Enterprise; see the pricing page. AI is never charged: connect your own AI key for unlimited use, or keep working with the non-AI fallbacks.

What can it not do?

  • AI makes mistakes, especially in Hindi and in mathematics, and handwriting recognition can fail. That is why a person approves.
  • AI does not set marks, does not decide admissions and does not write to a parent without approval (apart from the opted-in summary).
  • There is no AI on POCSO case content or counselling notes.
  • Free-tier quotas can run out, and then the fallback runs. Your own AI keys are optional and make AI unlimited.
  • AI needs a configured model provider, the platform free tiers or your own keys; until one is configured, the fallback runs and nothing blocks.

Does AI set student marks?

No. It can suggest marks from a photo and a rubric; the teacher sets or approves the mark.

Which AI models do you use?

A capable free model for each task, with fallbacks across providers. You can add your own keys and models, which are tried first for your institute.

Is my children data sent to a free AI service?

Only redacted text goes to free tiers that may train on inputs. Images and unredacted child data never do.

What if the AI service is down?

Each feature has a deterministic fallback, so the workflow continues without AI.

Can students use the tutor during an exam?

No. The tutor is locked during exams.
