Can I run live classes on Acavya, or keep using Zoom or Google Meet?
You can do both: teach in the built-in Acavya classroom with a whiteboard, polls, a low-data mode and watermarked recordings, or keep your own Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Jitsi at no extra cost while Acavya imports the attendance.

Who is it for, and what hurts today?
- Coaching owner: a price-sensitive online batch cannot pay for another expensive platform. Your own Zoom or Meet is free on every plan.
- Faculty: teaching from a phone to students on weak networks, with no way to know who actually attended.
- Student on 2G or 3G: video freezes. Low-data mode keeps audio, whiteboard and a small teacher thumbnail at about 100 to 300 kbps.
- Principal or class teacher: rain days, PTMs and remedial classes that need an online fallback, and staff meetings with no minutes.
What can it do?
- Available now: A built-in classroom on a self-hosted LiveKit server, scheduled from the timetable or a batch, or ad hoc, with a join button in the app or web, a waiting room and roles (host, co-host, student, observer, guest).
- Available now: Teaching tools: teacher camera and screen share, a synced Excalidraw whiteboard that can be exported to PDF, moderated chat, raise hand, mute all, spotlight and polls or instant MCQ quizzes whose results can go into the gradebook.
- Available now: Low-data mode with audio, whiteboard and a 180p teacher thumbnail, joining automatically on weak networks.
- Available now: Auto-attendance from join and leave times and duration with a threshold you set, such as present if at least 70 percent of the class.
- Available now: Recordings played in a synced player, watermarked with the viewer name and a masked phone, available only to enrolled students, with retention set by your plan.
- Available now: Your own Zoom (OAuth), Google Meet (Calendar event with a Meet link), Microsoft Teams (Graph) and Jitsi, picked per batch, with attendance imported where the provider allows.
- Available now: Virtual PTM one-to-one rooms, staff and SMC or PTA meetings with an AI minutes draft that a person approves, and admissions demo classes with guest join by OTP.
- Available now: Breakout rooms, composite MP4 export, Google and Outlook calendar sync and YouTube Live links with a privacy warning.
- Available now: Opt-in live captions, and an AI class summary, key questions and an auto-quiz that the teacher approves before it is published.
- Planned: Smart-panel class mode.
What does the AI do here, and who approves it?
- Meeting minutes for staff, SMC and PTA meetings are drafted from the recording or transcript and approved by a person before they are filed.
- Class recaps, key questions and an auto-quiz are opt-in and metered; the teacher publishes them.
- Captions are opt-in and cost-metered.
How does it work?
Can I run live classes on Acavya, or keep using Zoom or Google Meet?
Schedule
Create the class from the timetable or a batch and pick a provider for that batch.
Teach
Students join with a button; the teacher uses the whiteboard, polls and chat.
Attendance
Join and leave times become attendance automatically.
Review
Enrolled students watch the watermarked recording; the teacher adds the quiz results to the gradebook if wanted.
Does it work in Hindi, offline and on WhatsApp?
- Low-data mode is aimed at weak mobile networks and 2G or 3G behaviour.
- Your own Zoom, Meet, Teams or Jitsi stays free and unlimited on every plan. Every paid plan also includes a monthly pool of built-in live student-hours; see the pricing page.
- Parents can attend virtual PTMs from a phone with no extra app.
What can it not do?
- Built-in class time beyond your plan’s monthly pool of student-hours is charged per student-hour from the wallet, and low-data mode counts half; see pricing.
- Zoom external accounts need a published Marketplace app and rules have changed in 2026, so we start with link-out rather than an embedded SDK. Google asks that Meet data be used for attendance and not to grade performance.
- Smart-panel class mode, YouTube Live for minors and a paid course store are not in version 1.
- Our acceptance target is 50 participants in one room on staging, not a tested guarantee; larger broadcasts should use YouTube Live with unlisted settings.
Can we keep using Zoom or Google Meet?
Yes, at no extra cost on every plan. Acavya creates the meeting and imports attendance where the provider allows.
How is the recording protected?
It is watermarked with the viewer name and masked phone and only enrolled students can open it.
What if students have weak internet?
Low-data mode sends audio, the whiteboard and a small teacher thumbnail, using about 100 to 300 kbps.
How much does the built-in classroom cost?
Every paid plan includes a monthly pool of built-in live student-hours, and extra hours are charged per student-hour from the wallet. See the pricing page for the pool in each plan.
