Acavya

Can parents track the school bus with Acavya?

Yes, Acavya gives parents live bus location and ETA and geofence alerts during trips, runs a separate attendant app with boarding marks and SOS, tracks vehicle compliance expiry and adjusts the transport fee pro-rata when a route changes.

Who is it for, and what hurts today?

  • Transport in-charge: "bus kahan hai?" calls all morning and fitness, permit, insurance and PUC dates kept in a diary.
  • Parent: waiting at the stop without knowing if the bus is five minutes or thirty away.
  • Attendant and driver: a complicated app while driving. The attendant, not the driver, operates the phone, in big-button Hindi.
  • Accountant: a route change mid-month that needs a manual fee adjustment.

What can it do?

  • Available now: A vehicle register for own and contracted vehicles with expiry alerts for fitness, permit, insurance, PUC, speed governor, AIS-140 device IMEI, CCTV, first aid and fire extinguisher, and driver licence and police-verification tracking.
  • Available now: Routes and stops on a map with seat-capacity checks and student assignment to stops.
  • Available now: A stop-based transport fee linked to fees with pro-rata on a route change.
  • Available now: A separate small driver and attendant app, so only it ever asks for background location. Big buttons, Hindi, start and stop trip, boarding and alighting marks by QR, RFID or tap, and SOS.
  • Available now: Live location from the attendant phone or from an AIS-140 device adapter, with ETA and geofence alerts such as "bus 5 minutes away" for parents. Location is shared only during trips.
  • Available now: Trip logs, deviation alerts, fuel and maintenance logs and fuel-per-kilometre anomaly flags.
  • Available now: Bus boarding attendance, and route optimisation with a vehicle-routing solver as a planning helper.

What does the AI do here, and who approves it?

  • Route optimisation is solved by OR-Tools, not a language model. AI flags fuel and deviation anomalies for a person to review.

How does it work?

Can parents track the school bus with Acavya?

  1. Set up vehicles and routes

Add vehicles, drivers, routes, stops and seat capacity.

  2. Assign students

Link each student to a stop, which sets the transport fee.

  3. Run the trip

The attendant starts the trip and marks boarding; parents get ETA alerts.

  4. Review

Check trip logs, deviations and expiring documents.

Does it work in Hindi, offline and on WhatsApp?

  • The attendant app is Hindi and big-button; the parent alerts go on WhatsApp or push in Hindi or English.
  • Location is shared only during trips, in line with the DPDP transport-safety exemption, and points are purged after the retention window.
  • Mobile maps use Google Maps in the app and the web uses MapLibre with open map tiles.

What can it not do?

  • GPS accuracy depends on the phone or device, and an alert may be late in a signal shadow. Our target is an alert within 60 seconds of entering the geofence in a simulated track.
  • Google Play reviews background-location apps, which is why it is a separate small app and not part of the main one.
  • We do not do CCTV video; the register only records cameras and retention attestations.
  • AIS-140 device support depends on the vendor; confirm your device with us.

Who uses the phone on the bus?

The attendant. The driver never operates it.

Do parents see the bus all day?

No. Location is shared only while a trip is running.

Is transport available now?

Yes. Live tracking needs the attendant app on a phone or a supported AIS-140 device, and maps need a maps provider configured.

What happens to the fee if a route changes?

The transport fee is adjusted pro-rata from the date of the change.
